Bitwarden
An open-source password manager with a real free plan
The verdict
Free with no cap on passwords or devices, Bitwarden has one of the few password manager free plans that most people never outgrow. It fills logins on iPhone, Mac and in any browser, and it is open source. Apple's Passwords app is just as free and simpler if you never leave Apple devices and Safari, so Bitwarden makes sense once other devices enter the picture; Premium adds 2FA codes for $19.80 a year.
Get it if
You use a Windows PC or Android phone alongside your Apple gear and need your passwords on all of them.
Skip it if
You stay inside iPhone, Mac and Safari, where Apple's free Passwords app already syncs everything.
