A color-matching puzzle game with sword fights
The verdict
Free with Apple Arcade and with nothing else to buy, Grindstone skips the coin shops and lives systems that pad out most match-3 games. You drag your hero through chains of same-colored monsters, and long chains drop grindstones that switch colors for bigger combos, across more than 200 levels plus daily modes and a boss rush. You can't buy it outside Arcade, so it only makes sense if you already subscribe.
Get it if
You enjoy match-3 puzzles but want strategy and boss fights instead of ads and coin shops.
Skip it if
You don't pay for Apple Arcade; Grindstone has no standalone version on the App Store.
