LibreCam

An iPhone RAW camera with Apple's processing turned off

iPhoneiPadWatchFree to start

The verdict

Every shot saves as a true Bayer DNG, the raw sensor readout with no frame fusion, noise reduction or tone mapping, plus a single-frame HEIF you can share straight away. LibreCam switches off everything Apple's processing allows and tells you what it cannot switch off. Pro is a single $5.99 purchase, far less than Halide, but RAW files still need an editor and take more storage than normal photos.

What changed

  1. Version 1.11

IPHONE REMOTE. A second iPhone with LibreCam is now the remote for this one: the live viewfinder with your look on it, tap to focus, every dial, the lenses, looks and the shutter, with each shot sent back as a thumbnail. The two iPhones talk directly, so no Wi-Fi network is needed. Pair them once, and they find each other on their own after that. Part of LibreCam Pro, which only the shooting iPhone needs.
