Proton VPN
A no-logs VPN with a free plan and no data caps
The verdict
Free VPNs usually come with data caps or ads, and Proton VPN's free plan has neither, plus a strict no-logs policy from the team behind Proton Mail. The catch is that it picks your server from 10 countries and covers 1 device. VPN Plus is cheapest bought from Proton on a 2-year plan at $3.49 a month, far below $11.99 a month in the App Store.
Get it if
You use hotel and cafe Wi-Fi often and want a VPN you can try free with no data cap.
Skip it if
You only want your IP hidden in Safari, and iCloud Private Relay comes with any paid iCloud+ plan.
