Shortap
Tap the side of your MacBook to run any action
MacFrom $5
The verdict
Tap the left or right edge of your MacBook once, twice or 3 times and Shortap takes a screenshot, skips a track, toggles Wi-Fi or runs any Apple Shortcut. It reads the built-in motion sensor, so there is nothing extra to buy, but that also rules out Intel Macs, desktop Macs and the M1 MacBook Air. At $5 it is a cheap experiment, with 6 gestures to set and 50+ built-in actions.
Get it if
You own a recent MacBook and want a few shortcuts you can fire without touching the keyboard.
Skip it if
You work on an iMac, a Mac mini or an older MacBook, because Shortap needs the motion sensor in newer MacBooks.
What it helps you do
