The best habit tracker apps for iPhone
Streaks is the habit tracker most iPhone users should buy, and TickTick is the best free option if you also want a to-do list.
Streaks costs $5.99 once, fills in some habits from Apple Health and turns each day you keep a habit into a streak. TickTick is free and tracks habits alongside your tasks and calendar. Habitify suits people tracking several habits across iPhone and Mac, and WaterMinder only tracks how much water you drink.

The picks, in order
-
Pick it if you want a few daily habits and a streak counter, paid for once with no subscription.
For $5.99 once across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, Streaks tracks up to 24 daily habits and counts how many days in a row you keep each one. It checks off steps, water or caffeine from the Health app on its own, and it handles habits you want to cut back and timed ones like meditation. Habitify charts more detail, but it wants $29.99 a year once you pass 3 habits.
-
Pick this if you want habits tracked in the same free app as your to-do list and calendar.
Free for 9 lists of 99 tasks each, TickTick puts a to-do list, a habit tracker, and a Pomodoro timer in 1 app on iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, Android and the web. Type tasks in plain English, like "call mom Friday 6pm", and it sets the date and reminder. Full calendar and timeline views need Premium at $49.99 a year, and Things fits better if you only use Apple devices and would rather pay once.
-
Pick it if you track more than a handful of habits and want workouts and sleep logged for you.
A walk, a night of sleep or less time on your phone can log itself, because the Pro plan reads Apple Health, Strava, Fitbit and Screen Time. It shows streaks and history for each habit on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. The free plan stops at 3 habits and Pro runs $49.99 a year, while Streaks reads Apple Health too for $5.99 once if you don't need Strava or Screen Time.
-
Pick this if drinking enough water is the only habit you want to build.
If you reach late afternoon and realize you have had 1 glass of water all day, WaterMinder sets a goal from your weight, activity and the weather and nudges you until you hit it. You log drinks from your iPhone, the standalone Apple Watch app or Siri Shortcuts, and it all lands in Apple Health. The free tier covers only basic tracking, and Premium is $14.99 a year or $29.99 once on the Mac.
