AltTab
Windows-style Alt-Tab that switches between windows
The verdict
Command-Tab switches between apps, so with 5 browser windows open you still land on the wrong one, while AltTab shows a preview of every window instead. It includes minimized and hidden windows and the ones on other Spaces, and the free, open source version covers the switcher itself. Pro, at $9.99 once for 3 Macs, adds search by window title and a compact list, and you can try it free for 14 days.
Get it if
You keep several windows of the same app open and want to jump straight to the right one.
Skip it if
You run 1 window per app, and Command-Tab already gets you there.
What it helps you do
- Jump straight to any open window
- Bring back minimized windows with one shortcut
- See windows from other Spaces in one list
- Find a window by typing its title
